So nobody wants a strip scar on their head. I get it…but the fact is that FUE never ever works as well as strip. And the fact is that I average a 1 to 1.2 millimeter wide strip scar on all virgin head hair transplants…. pretty good. In fact better than most. For our patients…if you can just keep 3/8 inch hair, probably 95% of our patients scars will never be seen. Unfortunately the ARMY, not the other services, seems to make folks keep shorter hair.
In this video, we deal with a military fellow who had a strip case out of state, and the scar wasn’t terrible..but it was a few mm wide. I excised that and got about a 50% improvement…pretty typical… But he still wanted the straight line of the scar, which was slightly noticeable, broken up. We simply FUE harvested and placed the grafts in the scar itself to break up the long linear white line.
Take a look, he looks terrific. However…I’m betting he’ll be back for more hair despite promising us he was done with wanting hair.
